Sane Mom

Here I am, a perfectly happy, sane mom!! Enjoy me now, because in a very short while, I will be crazy, baseball mom. Those of you with boys (and girls too-for that matter), who have played baseball understand. It's a HUGE commitment, and will take up our lives (and most of our Saturdays) until June, with both boys playing this year. Ahhhh, for the love of baseball. Oh well, the boys love it, so I am happy. I really wouldn't have it any other way!!

Well, I really wanted to post some pictures of the snow on our usually snowless hills, but I guess it was not in the cards. Truth be told, I misjudged where to take the pictures, and then I spent too long in Michael's, so either the light was bad outside, or the snow had melted-I really could not find it-I swear it was there. Oh well, bummer.

BUT there is good news to report! My fabric came from Superbuzzy, and it's really cute. Not sure what I will make with it. Maybe a cute handbag with the two mushroom prints. Oh, and the really good news is that the clothes I ordered from lepetitboutique on etsy also arrived! My blythe has new clothes-blue jean peddle pushers and a really cute top! Aren't they cute? She needs better shoes though. I'll work on that.

Most of you probably already know that I turned the big 4 0 on Jan. 5. Kevin gave me a party. It was lots of fun. We had a cupcake bar (people could decorate their own cupcakes). Here's a picture of the cupcakes I did for inspiration. They were yummy too-K made them! I bought these cute little toothpick thingies to put into the cupcakes. There's this great Japanese store at our mall now. It's not a dollar store, but rather a $1.50-$2.00 store. They have lots of cool stuff.

Riley has been writing a book for the Young Author's contest. For those that are not sure what that is, It's a contest that our district does every other year in which the students write their own books. Winners are picked at each school site and then judged at the school district level. The top winners get their books "published" and copies are sent to every school library in the city. Riley's been working on his for 2 weeks now. It's called "The Amazing Adventures of Supercat." Last night Kevin and I were rolling with laughter as we helped him edit. It's quite a funny story. He turns it in tomorrow (happy dance!). Here he is with his book.

Jewelry making fun

I plan to open up an etsy shop very soon. I have been making jewelry to put into it. Here's an example of a bracelet I made. Guess what I used? Give up? It's scrapbooking embellishments!! I think I need to get a closer picture of it when I'm ready to put it in the shop. I'll keep you posted on the shop.

Ok, so this is not an original idea. I "borrowed" it from Pottery Barn-pg 5 of Bed and Bath catalog. It's super cute, all those buttons! I just could not pull the trigger on the $39 price tag, soooo I made my own. I may have to purchase the giant wall buttons though-same page, as my woodworking skills leave a lot to be desired. The boys like the pillow. I guess it flies pretty well.

Well, here's proof that Quinn loves me a whole lot! I am going to save this and use it to torture him when he's 13 and possibly feeling differently toward me.

OK here goes

Well, here it is, my first Real blog-you see the two at the end of this one were practice runs. I suppose I should give a little background info. I am hoping to use this blog to journal my life with 3 guys (husband and 2 small boys-nothing kinky going on here), and to be able to share my craftier side with anyone who cares to read. I sure enjoy reading other people's blogs! With that said, it was an uncrafty day, but a hot chocolate day! I am a California girl, and I am sorry, but I am freezing!! I know cold here is not what cold is in other states-some that actually freeze and see snow and ice, but it's darn cold here!! Go ahead, you can think I'm a wimp. Some freaky winter, even for the San Francisco Bay Area. So to remedy the situation, the littlest boy and I had some hot chocolate today, and it was yummy, oh and warm, and the rain pitter-pattered on the window, and we were warm.
