The Happiest Place on Earth!

We are back from our trip to Disneyland. It was rather cold. That's OK though. I'm a much happier person in the cold. I don't handle hot really well. We had a lot of fun. Here are some pictures. I'll post some other pics tomorrow.

I have this fascination with Alice in Wonderland. Here are the boys in a "Kodak moment" tea cup. We also got to ride the Alice in Wonderland ride. I love it.

Here are the boys to the side of Sleeping Beauty's castle. After being at Disney World in November, the boys had a hard time readjusting to the tiny castle at Disneyland. Cinderella's castle, at the Magic Kingdom, at Walt Disney World is much taller.

Here are Riley and Quinn with Dad. This big ball thing (from Pirates of the Caribbean) is on Tom Sawyer's Island. I usually skip the island, but the boys really wanted me to see all of the newly added pirate stuff. It was pretty cool, and the boys had a blast. Jack Sparrow was there, protecting his treasure.

Dumbo. A classic. Our Dumbo days are almost over. This was the ride we always went to first. Not anymore. How sad is that? Our boys are growing up. On to faster rides (well, sort of).

Here's the whale from Pinocchio. You go through the whale's mouth on the Storybook Land ride. See the little boat in its mouth? See the tour guide standing up? I didn't want you to think I had taken a picture of someone being eaten by a giant whale-I think that would be a snuff film. The whale has a hole in his other end. He sneezed so hard, his tail came off.

It's So Exciting!

The craze has hit our house. Don don don DON da da da....don don don DON don don don don don...Yes, that's supposed to be the Indiana Jones theme. The new movie hits screens tomorrow. Unfortunately for us, we are on our way to this magical place tomorrow, so the movie will have to wait until our return.
Quinn is ready with his new Indiana action figures.

Snakes. I hate snakes.

Indy and the girl. Isn't there always one?

No fancy sword tricks now, you know where that gets you? (Flashback, first movie)
Have a great long weekend! We'll chat when I come back.

My Blythe

I know, 2 posts in one day! I was searching etsy tonight, looking at the clothes for Blythe. Lots of cute stuff!
Here's a picture of my Blythe doll. These are her original clothes. Her official name is Hello Harvest. I think you've seen her before, as I think I blogged about her getting new clothes.

I want this outfit. Or this one. Hey, isn't that my Blythe? Or maybe this one. Doesn't that one doll look like Edna from the Incredibles? I need to learn to sew clothes for Blythe. Imagine the outfits she could have! Aren't the shoes adorable? Especially the brown boots.
My dream is to go here sometime this summer. I have my eye on Natasha Moore!

I'm feeling blue

I got my toes done. They are blue. I usually go for some red color, but I was feeling blue, and the lady next to me, she was feeling green.

See the cute pink design on my big toe? I feel naked if I don't have some sort of design or flower. It's painted on, not a sticker. You like?

Mission San Luis Obispo

On Mother's Day, we made a trip to San Luis Obispo to visit the mission. Yes, we do have a CA mission right here, in our city, but we wanted to go to San Luis Obispo. Riley has this big project due Monday. Here are some pictures of our visit. We had a lot of fun.

Here's the mission.

Who's that scary, red creature?

Quinn, in an old chair.

Riley, checking out the mission bells.

Kevin, Riley and Quinn along the river in San Luis. The boys loved that they could walk around, on the rocks, in this river area. Maybe it's a boy thing. I went down there too, but the rocks didn't really do that much for me-except get caught in my shoes. Oh man, I'm such a girl.

For more information on CA missions, check here.

My Reader

Riley loves to read. He reads in the car, before bed, at breakfast, on the couch, whenever he gets a chance. He loves to read.

Let's see what he's reading...

Star Wars-he has a whole set of these. I think he's read them more than once.

Sideways Stories from Wayside School by Louis Sachar. Another favorite.

Dragon Slayers' Academy

Judy Blume, Fudge-a-mania. I think that's another Star Wars under that Judy Blume book.

Tonight he started Prince Caspian of the Narnia chronicles.
Oh, and he's reading ALL of these books currently. Hmmmmm.

Take Me Out to the Ballgame!

I got to show off my baseball skills today. The moms and sons played a game of ball today. It was lots of fun! I was up 3 times, and hit 2 of those times (off the pitching machine, I might add). My second hit was much better, and I was able to score a run for my team, when another mom hit me in. We lost. I think the score was 13 to 6. At least we didn't humiliate ourselves! Oh and we all enjoyed the "gatorade" in the dugout during the game. Yummy. Who knew "gatorade" could be so tasty?

Here's an action shot of me up to bat.

Here I am in the outfield. I also played 3rd base, and pitcher (I didn't pitch, cuz there was a machine. I stood in the area of pitcher).

Here's a cute one of Riley and me. I think he was proud. Did you notice my shirt? All of us moms had them, and tiaras too.

Here's a huggy shot of me and my favorite boys.

Do you like my shoes?

Your Vegas

Kevin and I went to see Duran Duran last night. It was a very good show. There was an opening band called, Your Vegas, which we happened to watch, and they were really good. They just released their debut album on Tuesday. After their set, they sat outside the merchandise booth and signed stuff. Kevin bought their CD, which we both really love, and we waited in line to get the CD book signed. They signed that, and a little poster for Quinn, cuz didn't ya know? He's going to be a rockstar! To find out more about Your Vegas, visit here.

Here's Quinn with his new favorite poster, from his new favorite band.

Check out what they wrote to Quinn. He's very pleased. He'll be making his rockstar debut at his school's talent show in June.

Remember the 80's music scene?

Kevin and I got tickets (2 for the price of 1-plus all of the "convenience fees") to see these guys The show is tomorrow night.
Cool huh? Check out this site They have new stuff coming out, oh but they don't have Andy Taylor. I personally was a Nick Rhodes fan. Come on sing with me..."her name is Rio and she dances on the sand..."
