The yolk's on us

Riley had a project to do over spring break. He had to create a character from a book, using a blown egg. Lots of hilarity with my husband trying to blow the egg guts out. Brown eggs really don't work that well. We switched to white. After much huffing and puffing, all of the guts were out. Riley painted his egg, added a tail, a fuzzy mane and a face and ta da!

It's Aslan from the Chronicles of Narnia. Cute huh? I helped him glue the mane because it was a big old pain in the neck-ha ha ha ha.
Here's his back side. See? He's an egg. Riley did an egg-celent job! Sorry could not resist that one. He's got pom poms for legs. He also wrote a paragraph describing the characteristics of Aslan. He did a fine job on that too.

Baseball again

After a week of no baseball (due to spring break), we were back at the field Saturday.
Riley played catcher during his game. Doesn't he look professional? Look at his hand. He's a pro.
Quinn gave me thumbs up from 2nd base. He ran like a speeding bullet. He also danced, but I missed the photo op-shoot. (No pun intended.)

Finally, a project!

I made this today. I used the tutorial for Betz White's Spring mini tote bag. Her bag is super cute, pink, with more flowers, leaves and buttons. I have her book as well, and had fun "felting" my thrift store finds. Thanks Dad for that cute stripe-y sweater! Thanks to Betz White for creating such a great tutorial, and a really cute bag! I'm pretty happy with mine too.

Sneak Preview

Well, I finally got my etsy shop going. I have 7 items for sale. Here they are here. Check out my etsy shop. There's a link-over there, on your right. See it? Under, "My Shop." Check it out.

Easter

Everyone had a nice Easter morning. I love these Nerds Bumpy jellybeans. They made my Easter sweet! The kids didn't care for them, but I loved the bumpy texture and tangy goodness, and the fact that I don't have to share.

Riley's Easter present...Why the Elements of Destruction DS game-perfect for a peaceful Easter Sunday. He can create his own natural disasters-he's pretty psyched too.

Quinn loved his Batman Easter-um, eggs??? He's psyched too.

Saturday... in the park I think it was the 4th of July

Sorry, I've been in a Chicago mood lately. Just ordered a greatest hits CD from Amazon-perhaps that's a different blog.
Here's Riley and Quinn looking hot and sweaty at Lake Elizabeth Park today. The weather was great-about 70 degrees! I can feel summer!

We had a little reunion with our daycare friends at the park today. That's Marcus, Quinn, Sebastian, Sophia, Riley and Marissa. The kids loved playing together, and the park was just a bonus!

Happy Birthday Riley

Today is Riley's 10th birthday. I can't believe he's 10! We spent the whole day playing baseball. Quinn had a game at 11 am, then we went to lunch, then back to the field for Riley's game at 3pm. After his game, we went to Chili's to celebrate his birthday. They sang to him and he got this chocolate shake. Happy Birthday Riley!
