Tennessee!

We left the comfort of the awesome RV park in Oklahoma, this morning at 6:00 am. What a nice place. We are getting closer to Kentucky, and the trees are getting denser. We drive through Arkansas, past the birthplace of Bill Clinton, past Little Rock, and over the Mississippi River, into Tennessee.

For all of you who like to volunteer, Tennessee is the state for you! Please see picture. We passed St. Judes Children's Hospital, Graceland, and lots of trees!

The Mississippi River.

Memphis, TN.

Word of the Day: Trees. Lots of them. It's very green here.

Oklahoma!

Well, well, well, looky here! I am typing away on my trusty computer! Oh how I have missed it's convenient, easy goodness. We are at an awesome RV park in Durant, OK. It's brand new. It has a really nice pool, full RV hookups, cable tv, a play structure, awesome bathrooms (from what I understand), a laundry room, a game room, and FREE INTERNET! Yay! We stopped here, early today, as we visited a friend of my dad's, from the navy. I like these here parts of Oklahoma! It's very green, and very pretty.
Sunrise in Mount Calm, TX, right before we left this morning. Isn't it pretty? Don't let this picture fool you, it was hotter than blazes at 7 am! We had a lot of fun in Texas, but we were all ready to leave the heat behind. I have never slept so poorly, or have been more miserable at night, in my life. It was HOT! We had the air going in the RV, but we couldn't have it at full blast, as we were plugged into my aunt and uncle's house, so it was rather uncomfortable sleeping at night. It also didn't help that my brother, his girlfriend and the boys all slept in the RV last night, so we could leave early, and my brother has a habit of getting up in the middle of the night, to eat. He woke me up every night. Last night it was at 3:40 am, and I was up for the day. Nice huh?
Riley enjoyed the pool. He's been working on his swimming strokes, and he's doing really well with them. It was a really nice pool.
Quinn, thinking how nice the pool is. It wasn't heated, but when it's 90 degrees plus outside, and humid, it was nice and refreshing.
We went to my dad's friend's house (Mike). He and his wife and their two older kids, fixed us a good dinner. The boys jumped like crazy on their trampoline. They were both so sweaty. It was hot and humid, but not as bad as it was in Texas.

Mike took both boys out for a ride on the ATV. This particular boy is Riley, with Mike. Quinn took a ride two times, and even drove a little. Mike said he liked to go fast. Guess what Quinn wants for Christmas?

Word of the Day: Dog. At Mike's house, not only did Quinn love the trampoline, and the ATV, but he also fell in love with their dog, Peanut. She's a golden lab, and a drug sniffing dog. She is the sweetest dog. So loving. She's pretty big, but she managed to sit on my lap, and my mom's. Quinn followed her around, and she was so gentle with him. It was very sweet. I see a dog, probably a shelter dog, in our future.

Last Day of Texas

Today was our last full day in Texas. My cousin and I went into Waco, to a place called, "The Shops of River Square." It is an old warehouse, converted into shops and restaurants. All of the shops were in the same building. It's one of those places where people rent spots to sell their stuff. It was cool.

This is a bag I bought. It's oil cloth. Cool huh?

This is a necklace I bought, made out of a domino. Isn't it cool? I am going to make my own domino jewelry. I just have to figure out if I can drill holes in them with my dremmel.

Word of the Day: Family. It's been great to visit with my dad's 3 brothers, their kids and their grandkids. We have had fun. We have sweated our asses off, but it's been fun.

Not Austin, Afterall

We didn't make it to Austin today. We just couldn't work it out. Bummer. We did go to a pretty good antique mall though, Walmart, and Sam's Club. Don't be jealous of my oh so exciting life.

This is my mom. You may be wondering why she's wearing a bike helmet. Well, this morning she ran into the corner of one of the RV slides (expansions to make the living areas bigger). It bled and bled and bled. She's ok though, it didn't need stitches. She's got a hard head.
I have a picture of her boo boo, but thought maybe you wouldn't like to look at that, so I left it out. She got it good though.

Word of the Day: Enchiladas! My aunt is making us yummy enchiladas for dinner. The rest of my dad's family is coming to dinner tonight.

Texas!

I got to do some shopping today! Yay! My cousin, her daughter, my mom and I went to the mall. I got to go to Dillard's and Hobby Lobby, oh and Target! I wish There was a Dillard's closer to me.

Mount Calm, Texas. Population 310. This is where my aunt and uncle live.

It's HOT here! Do you like Quinn's red face? He and Riley went with Andrew, a 6 year old boy, to visit his clubhouse.

Word of the Day: Heat. Oh my it was hot today, over 100 degrees, but not humid at all. Apparently it will be hot and humid tomorrow, and we are going to Austin.

RV Trip Day 4

Another long traveling day, and no real pictures, just the one below, that I took for the blog. We didn't stop at anything interesting. We are at our final Texas destination, near Waco.

It looks a lot like home. I think the boys are missing their Wii.

Word of the Day: Stable. No significant driving until Thursday, when we head for Kentucky. Yay!

RV Trip Day 3

We were on the road by 6:30 this morning. Another crazy road from Sedona to Flagstaff, but not nearly as bad as yesterday's crazy road.

We stopped at a rest stop, somewhere in Arizona, to have breakfast. I thought this sign was funny, but not so much if I had been bitten by a rattle snake or stung by a scorpion. Would have been a good story though.

We stopped at "Geronimo," a Native American gift shop. This is Riley in front of a petrified tree. I told him to be nice. Too late, the poor tree is petrified.

Here's Quinn, petrified of an Indian Chief.

Here's something funny. Tarantula Droppings-don't freak out, they are only chocolate covered sunflower seeds.

Word of the Day: Read. I finished my Stephanie Plum book. I liked it, lots of fun. Now I am reading Love Walked In by Marisa De Los Santos. I am loving the two main characters, and I am only on page 64.

Oh, the Internet here is free, which is code for "it sucks." Again I have better pictures on my computer. I'll have to share at a later date. Texas tomorrow.
