We all went to Target tonight, after dinner. Quinn filmed two commercials. The first one was for Lay's Potato Chips, but something went wrong when I thought I filmed it, and it's lost. Bummer. I will have to take him back for a do-over. The second one he did, with Riley as "director" and Kevin filmed it. Here it is...

Monday, Monday

Our regularly scheduled summer is back in progress. Kevin went back to work today, and the boys and I busied ourselves with our normal summer activities. I ran a few errands-Michael's (I got a stencil for the Slow Summer Stitch Along I am participating in). I went to Macy's and I went to Target. I was so excited to go to Target. It had been awhile. However, it was not an enjoyable visit. I was almost run down (in the crosswalk) by a guy in a Mercedes who refused to stop for me, and then I had to deal with a screaming kid in Target. That kid was so freaking loud. I have no patience for unruly children in public. He could be heard all over the store! At one point the mother and sister had him on the ground, wrestling with him-nice. They put him in a shopping cart but he kept shrieking. He wasn't crying, just screaming at the top of his lungs at regular intervals. He was like 5 years old too! The mother shushed him a zillion times, but she was ineffective. It was really annoying and wrecked my Target Mojo-and probably everybody else's too. I may need to go back tomorrow, for a redo.

Quinn did some painting today. He painted a ceramic cupcake. He also has a gnome to paint.

Ta da! What a yummy looking cupcake. I'm wondering if it's huckleberry. We had lots of huckleberry stuff on our vacation. So yummy! We came home with some huckleberry jam.

Quinn also played some dress-up. I'm not sure what or who he is here. At one point he was a ninja, using his Darth Vader costume on backwards. He gave up when he didn't have the proper masking for his face.

Riley's gearing up for Scout camp. He's looking forward to it. He has to be packed by Thursday, with his gear dropped off at the Cubmaster's house sometime that day. They leave at 7 am Saturday morning. Any guesses on if he'll shower or change his underwear?

Sunday, Relaxing Sunday

Quinn and I didn't leave the house at all today. In fact, he never even got dressed. I at least showered. It was a low-key, come down from vacation day. Riley had a scout thing he had to do for most of the day, and Kevin went to the grocery store, but other than that, not much else was going on. I read, I facebooked, I played Angry Birds, I looked at my Blythe doll pattern, I ordered iPhone 4g cases, Kevin ordered me an iPhone 4g, Quinn played on the computer, we watched iCarly...well, you get it right? It was great.

I even cooked dinner! Chili tacos. This recipe is in my Weight Watchers Cook It Quick! book. It was really easy to make, and it smelled really good too, and it was low in calories. There's a ton of it, so we have dinner tomorrow night as well. It was nice to eat a home-cooked meal after eating out for 11 days.

My tacos look thrown together. I need little stands to hold the taco shells up-they would photograph so much better.

I spent a lot of time playing this on my phone today. It's Angry Birds, and if you have an iPhone, here's a warning: It's VERY addictive! You have to launch these birds and try to smash those green guys. The birds do different things, but you have to use the birds provided.

This is from before I went on vacation, but I couldn't share it then. I made this bag for a friend who is having twins very soon. Her shower was on Saturday, so I wanted to wait until she actually got the bag, before I blogged it.

The bag is made from a Anna Maria Horner pattern. I've made a ton of those bags. They are easy, and I love them. I especially love the four outside pockets.

I think I will venture out tomorrow. Any guesses on where I shall go????

We're Back!

We are home! We left the LOVELY town of Winnemucca, NV at 9:06 am. We stopped in Reno, at Boomtown, for gas and lunch, at a little after 11 am. We were back on the road by 12:13 pm, and home by 4 pm! My parents brought Maya home, and she was super happy to see us. She's promptly passed out, on the couch next to me. Such a happy girl.

This is the vacation laundry I now have to do. I've started on it already, and I have all day tomorrow to get it done. Oh and we need some groceries in a major way.

I got this in the mail today! I ordered it after seeing it HERE (Thanks Mel!), and it was waiting for me when I got home. I only just ordered it the other night, when I was in Great Falls, MT. That was quick! I know what I will be doing next week!! I love the dress in the middle, at the top, and the hoody especially.

Our Last Full Day of Vacation

Today was our last full day of vacation. We slept in just a little this morning, before leaving Idaho Falls. We saw a potato truck on the interstate, and it reminded us that we wanted to visit the potato museum, so we did! After the museum-it's pretty small-we continued on. We made it to Salt Lake City and detoured just outside town so that we could have lunch at Ruby Tuesday. After Ruby Tuesday, I got to visit a Hobby Lobby store!! After that, we just drove, and drove, and drove, and stopped for gas, and drove some more. We are in Winnemucca this evening, and tomorrow, we are homeward bound!

I let Quinn take pictures with my little camera yesterday, at the Museum of the Rockies. Most of his pictures are very blurry, and they are of weird things. This one is great though!

This is the world's largest potato crisp. I don't know if it's cool or just kinda gross. They also have a potato signed by Dan Quayle-remember, he had that misspelling incident with the word potato.

I don't have anymore pictures for you to click on. It was a rather slow picture day. We'll be home tomorrow, and back to our regularly scheduled lives. It's been a great vacation, but I am ready to be home, in my own bed.

More Dinosaurs!

We drove from Great Falls, MT to Idaho Falls, ID today. It took a long time. Luckily, we had a stop scheduled in the middle. We went to the Museum of the Rockies in Bozeman, MT. It was pretty cool. The rest of the day was spent in the car, but luckily, the view did not suck. Montana is very pretty. We went through forested mountains, and rolling hills, and tiny towns and bigger towns, and even the capital, Helena.

This is my favorite part! That's a REAL T-Rex skeleton, not a replica. The real deal. He's almost a complete skeleton too! I could have stared at him all day.

I love this guy too! This buffalo is made out of all kinds of stuff. He has a guitar for a leg, and there's a horn back there that works, and a xylophone-that also works. His head is made from phone cords. There were other animals made like this too, but this buffalo was the best. This is in the "Explore Yellowstone" area of the museum, for kids.

Riley exploded a geyser! It made a loud noise which scared us all.

Outside of the museum is a living history museum. It's an old house/farm. There are people dressed up, baking in the kitchen. It was really pretty neat. Quinn's wearing a newsboy hat and pretending to work on school work. I love that hat on him!

We got here, to Idaho Falls, at 6:00 pm. There was enough time to have some dinner, walk along the Snake River and for the boys to go swimming in the hotel pool. It was quite a picture day with the museum and the river walk. CLICK HERE to see the rest of the pictures.

Back in the USA!

We are back safely, in the USA. We had a great time in Canada, but it's always nice to be home. It's kinda hard following the speed limit signs in Canada-we had to use the KM on the odometer. For me, it's just too much thinking-those KM numbers on the odometer are way smaller than miles. Anyway, we left Canada with $0.77 Canadian and a box of Tim Horton's donuts! A good time was had by all. Now we are in Great Falls, Montana for the night.

We stopped in Fort Macleod to take this picture. These are young girls-mini mounties? Not sure what they are exactly, but they were stopped like this in preparation for a show going on at the fort in Fort Macleod. They let the few people around take pictures, and then they headed off to the fort.

Great Falls, Montana. This is the Missouri River! It runs all the way to the Atlantic Ocean.

These falls are apparently the "Niagara Falls of Montana."

We are headed to another dinosaur museum tomorrow, in Bozeman, MT and then we are off to Twin Falls, Idaho for the night.
