Things are starting to shape up at school. The kids are learning the routine, and the days have actually been going by pretty quickly-amazing since we don't have any prep. I am hammering out my schedule. It's tricky since we don't have prep. No specialist teachers which means I am teaching everything, and some of those things I don't really want to teach, but I will! I also found out that I will lose two students by Monday. I am at 22 right now, so I knew it would happen, but now I know which two, and I am bummed. At least they get to stay at our school. Several are being overloaded to other schools. It's not ideal, but that's how it goes. I look forward to Monday though. I can finally start the "real" curriculum, and then time will fly because we are so busy all the time. Yep, life moves pretty fast around here. Oh, but look at this....
Perhaps this was the most exciting part of my day. I made a trip to Joann's after school. I was walking down the isles and I came across this display of paintable wooden letters. The name on the front of the box read, "Julia," and I thought to myself, "well, that's just wrong." I embellished! You like? Julia is a perfectly decent name. I think I just have reservations about it since I had a preschool or kindergarten teacher who insisted my name was Julia, and not Julie. I think it took my mom to set her straight.
Word of the Day: Shuttle! The best part of the day was that the boys and I got to watch the space shuttle, followed by the International Space Station, pass over our house! It was awesome! Check out THIS LINK for future passings.
