Here I am, all decked out for Pink Friday.
Almost the entire staff wore a shade of pink today. After school, I attended the march to Alberto Torrico's office. We walked and rallied outside of his office, giving his rep. the "pink slips we filled out. They expressed our feelings toward budget cuts. There was entertainment, and our union president spoke. There were hundreds of people-teachers, students and parents. It was awesome. We had signs, and had the support of the community-lots of cars honking their horns in support. It is nice to be supported. Go to this site and check it out. There's a Fremont teacher who wrote a song-you can hear it at that site.
Word for the day: Pink. What else can I say? Thanks to everyone for their support. Over 200 teachers in our district alone received pink slips. There are about 7 at my school.
