I guess it's better to start the week crazy, and end it quietly. Today was jam packed. I had a meeting after school, then Quinn had a baseball game, then we needed to eat, then Riley had scouts, then we did some homework. Now, I am relaxing, and contemplating my egg project.
These are the supplies I bought to make my own egg. Remember the one I showed you from the weekend, with the cute felt flowers? I'm using paper flowers, and a bigger styrofoam egg. I'm almost finished with it, so stay tuned.
Quinn played catcher tonight. He looks so cute in the gear. It's very hard to walk, but he looks good-official.
Quinn playing pitcher. He grabbed a ball hit to him, and this is him gearing up for the throw to first base.
See my pretty toes? Ignore the red marks on my feet from my flip flops. I swear my feet have to get used to wearing flip flops every year.
Word for the day: Duh! Ok, can I just take a little time to vent? Yes? Ok, here goes. MOST of the time, my job is very rewarding. I get to teach kids. I get to see how much they learn and grow over the course of the school year. I get to spend most of my day with them, filling their little heads with knowledge. The one part of my job that sucks though? Parents. For the most part, I have awesome parents this year. Very supportive, very helpful (Sheri-and several others). I really like my little class, and I really like my parents, except for two sets of them. I could do without their constant bullshit (pardon my French). Their kids are not all that spectacular either. One of the sets of parents, belongs to a certain busy-body girl in my class. I don't mind telling you that she's a pain in the ass. Always in someone's business, always has to be the first one done, always shouting out answers before anyone gets a chance to think. Anyway, she missed a week of school two weeks ago. Her mom came, every day, to pick up her homework and classwork. One day she complained that she was missing out. I told her I had given her everything she was missing. She said, "Well yes, but she's missing the lessons, how you present them." I explained that this is what happens when one is absent (duh! But I actually think she wanted me to go to her house to teach her personally). So long story short (too late), the classwork did not come back. On Friday I wrote on her weekly report that I needed it for my grade book. I got a note today, asking me to excuse her from doing it, because they had turned in all of the homework, that she just couldn't do it, any of it. So I ask you, what would you do? Excuse her? Or would you, happily, mark zeros across that week? Can you figure out which I did? The end. Thanks for listening.

Oh my..why did she come pick it all up if she wasnt going to do it?? I dont get it..that doesnt make sense (on their part). Maybe they really thought you would volunteer to come to their house :) Heee hee...
I have the same issue with flip flops too!
um...all I can say is "no comment"...and um...since I know what the work/homework was...why couldn't they help her with it? Sigh...nothing you can do....
I say excuse her, it's not her fault she is so smart that she knows the answers and that she likes to be done first. AND it's not her fault that her parents are a pain in the butt and that she is just doing what she knows. POOR kid. She sounds lovely. Just my opinion.
